Around Michael Praetorius

On the occasion of the 400th anniversary of the death of composer Michael Praetorius, the Renaissance music ensemble Syntagma Musicum wants to pay tribute to the German master with a selection of dances from his work Terpsichore. The ensemble Syntagma Musicum takes its name from the homonymous work of Praetorius, an essential document for the study of the organology, theory and musical practice of that period. The program also includes dances by other late-Renaissance composers and publishers, such as the French P. Attaingnant or the English lute player J. Dowland.
