This year the Orfeón Santo Reino de Jaén, due to the proximity of the Christmas season has decided to focus its performance on the Festival Vandelvira de Música Antigua on a Christmas repertoire of polyphonic carols from various countries around the world.

Orfeón Santo Reino Caja Sur. This choir was founded by José Sapena Matarredona in 1953, sponsored by the Association of Cofradías (guilds). From 1976, it has been sponsored by the Caja de Ahorros of Córdoba (a Spanish bank). The group has collaborated with several civil and religious institutions, and has successfully performed for the Kings of Spain. They have participated in national and international choral encounters and are the founders and organizers of the Choral Encounters “Ciudad de Jaén”. They have recorded three CDs and performed in several concerts in Spain and Europe. In 2009 the choir was awarded with the Merit Medal by the Royal Academy of Fine Arts. The group is currently directed by Marta Illescas de la Torre.
