Rediscovering Telemann: the fantasias

The following program aims to establish a musical connection between the two of Telemann’s twelve fantasies for viola da gamba and music for solo viola that occurred before and after them. That is why it is divided into three blocks, by tonal affinities, and where different styles are opposed: English, German and French.

Miguel Bonal, viola da gamba

Miguel Bonal, viola da gamba. He was born in Zaragoza in 1999. At the age of seven, he entered to the Zaragoza Conservatory to study viola da gamba. His interest in this instrument leads him to deepen and carry out training courses under the guidance of Wieland Kuijken and Noelia Reverte. He completed his higher studies of viola da gamba at ESMUC. He is currently studying the Master of Viola da Gamba at the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague, with Mieneke van der Velden.He won the First Prize in the Concurso Juventudes Musicales. He also received the Prize of the Festival de Música Antigua de Úbeda y Baeza, and the EMCY Prize Certificate.
