Diachronic Suite: Antonio Soler – Astor Piazzola

A suite is a succession of dances. Diachrony is the development of events over time. Both Soler and Piazzolla were inspired, more or less obviously, by the rhythms and gestures of different folk tunes and dances of humble extraction, such as the fandango and, obviously, the tango. To commemorate the centenary of the Argentinean composer’s birth, Iñaki Alberdi proposes a journey between historical times and continents in the form of an infinite round trip.
