Iacobus Yspanias:
a musical pilgrimage to Rome, Jerusalem and Compostela

The phenomenon of pilgrimage contributed to the development and consolidation of the world that we know today, with numerouss routes crossed Europe. The first section of the concert links together two routes of special fame in the Middle Ages: the Via Francigena and the pilgrimage to Montserrat. However, the Way of St. James, departing from Paris to Compostela, will be the undisputed protagonist of the evening. We will evoke the soundscape of these cosmopolitan and multicultural paths, where all kinds of cultures and nationalities coexisted and converged.

Egeria. It is a vocal ensemble which will show you that medieval music is not a thing of the past. Egeria is the result of the initiative of Lucía Martín-Maestro and Fabiana Sans to do medieval music from the manuscript to the stage. They aim to break down the barriers of a repertoire relegated to oblivion in order to rediscover it.Egeria have performed at the most remarkable festivals in Spain, and in the last edition of Laus Poliphonie (Antwerp) thanks to the IYAP programme. In 2020, they were distinguished with the award for Best Medieval Music Group by the Spanish Early Music Association (GEMA).
