Cantando e con dança. Cantigas a Santa María by Alfonso X el Sabio

The 800th anniversary of the birth of Alfonso X of Castilla y León is commemorated this year. He was called “the Wise” as a consequence of his cultural activity, being recognized for his literary, scientific, historical and legal work. In the field of music, he bequeathed us the most important monument of European troubadour song: the Cantigas de Santa María (c.1284). This concert is dedicated to this important repertory.
