Sacred music from the Middle Ages onwards

It is not easy summarize in less than an hour all the sacred music composed over the centuries. Therefore, in the first part of this concert, we will present some examples of sources or composers widely recognized such as the Llibre Vermell of Montserrat, J. S. Bach or W. A. Mozart. The second part focuses on the music of the last 100 years including works by M. Frisina, J. de Haan or our director A. Carmona Barroso.

Antonio Carmona Barroso, director. He obtained the title of Profesor Superior de Flauta travesera at the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música Victoria Eugenia in Granada with the highest grades. He also attends several improvement courses with Antonio Pérez Jiménez, Salvador Espasa, Rodrigo Checa Jódar and Francisco Javier López Rodríguez. He is also Maestro especialista en Educación Musical by the University of Granada and has studied Orchestra conducting at the Escuela de Dirección de Orquesta y Banda Maestro Navarro Lara. In his work as composer and arranger it is worth mentioning his sacred triptych Porque es eterna su Misericordia, which has traveled the Andalusian geography in charge of several groups from Granada, Cádiz or Sevilla. He is currently director of the Coral Polifónica de Baeza and sub-director of the Orquesta Sinfónica Ciudad de Baeza.

Coral Polifónica de Baeza. On January 29, 2011, at the General Assembly of Partners, the creation of the Coral Polifónica de Baeza was approved and Antonio Carmona Barroso was appointed as its Head Director. Since then, the CPB has made its own productions on a regular basis, as well as performances for events organised by other entities. They have accompanied the Cofradía de La Caída with the BSCB, with which they have also performed symphonic concerts, as in the multidisciplinary show Carmen at the Plaza de Toros in Baeza. Moreover, the CPB participates in liturgical celebrations, sacred music concerts and Christmas shows.
