IL GIARDINO ARMONICO
Giovanni Antonini, conductor

At the 250th anniversary of Philipp Telemann

Last June marks the 250th anniversary of the death of Georg Philipp Telemann, one of the most prolific composers of all times. With its director, Giovanni Antonini, the Milanese group Il Giardino Armonico commemorates the anniversary with a purely instrumental program that covers the most important genres of that period: the suites, closely linked to French music, the concerts, and the sonatas, which constitute samples of the Italian style. These three musical forms include innumerable samples of the variety and richness of the creative resources of this German composer.
